Feminist Erasures presents a collection of essays which examines the state of feminism in North America and Western Europe, by focusing on a range of cultural and political contexts, including news media, popular fiction and television, the Internet, higher education, employment, motherhood, and feminist activism. This book is a response to the general apathy towards, and erasure of, feminist discourse and analysis from popular and political culture. In providing a scholarly critique of feminism’s erasure from popular culture and society, this book also seeks to make an intervention – by making visible this erasure at a time when women’s rights are increasingly under attack.
