Early Iron Age coarse-ware pottery in context: new finds from the settlement of Xeropolis at Lefkandi

This is a preliminary report on the examination of Early Iron Age (EIA) coarse-ware pottery found at Xeropolis during the latest excavations (2003–2009).1 Study of the assemblage is ongoing, therefore attention focuses here on a few selected pieces. For the most part they belong to two principal groups as defined by function, i.e. cooking ware and storage vessels. [Opening paragraph]
