Supporting Material - Topside Electron Density Profiles from MARSIS onboard Mars Express spanning 2005-2017
In this folder we provide the data related to the electron density profiles, spanning from 2005 to 2017, obtained by the MARSIS radar on board Mars express. The data files include the data and images for the electron density profiles derived from the MARSIS-AIS ionograms and the Chapman layer fits to these profiles. README text files are included for further information.

File descriptions:
'28 MARSIS-AIS Orbits Ne Profiles Data', which contains the data for each electron density profile in this study derived from the MARSIS-AIS ionograms.
'28 MARSIS-AIS Orbits Ne Profiles Information', which contains further information on each of the electron density profiles in this study. This includes information about the observations and the geometry and location of Mars Express.
'28 MARSIS-AIS Orbits Ne Profile Images', which contains images of the electron density profiles fitted to a Chapman layer function.
'28 MARSIS-AIS Orbits Chapman Fit Free Parameters', which contains information on the three free parameters obtained by fitting the electron density profiles to a Chapman layer function. The three free parameters are: the altitude of the peak electron density when the Sun is overhead, the neutral scale height at the peak of the ionosphere and the linear coefficient that describes how the neutral scale height varies linearly with altitude.
