To the Editor: We thank Göbl and Tura [1] for their interest in our recent article [2] and their insightful comments on the importance of understanding clinical phenotypes of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in order to provide more tailored treatment to patients. We consider that our data are consistent with the conclusions of the study by Salvatori et al [3], who found that the degree of hyperglycaemia at diagnosis and the presence of pre-pregnancy maternal obesity are two very important clinical prognostic indicators in GDM.
