journal contribution
posted on 2019-05-29, 15:53 authored by Catarina Sjölin
This article examines the scheme of prosecution appeals and references from substantive Crown Court indictment matters, examines the justifications and needs for them, and then analyses their use by means of figures obtained by Freedom of Information Act requests together with some publicly-available data. Underuse and overuse of the powers are discussed and solutions suggested.
