Firstly, we would like to thank the authors for taking the time to review and comment on our
paper. We believe it is invaluable to have open debates regarding current methodologies and the
inference of research outputs. In the spirit of open debate and constructive discussion, we wish to
respond to the observations of Mekary and Ding.
