The biannual Linecar lecture, established through Howard Linecar’s generous bequest, is delivered by an eminent scholar in a cognate field to numismatics. In her lecture Professor Sarah Scott, Professor of Archaeology and Heritage Hub Director at the University of Leicester, explores the significant role of curiosity, personal connections and collaborations in archaeology in the past, and her work on public engagement in the present. Her lecture opens up new questions to apply to the history of numismatics and suggests potential approaches for outreach and public engagement in our field.
