The R-NEET project has a blog that will run for the duration of the project funding. In this post the team members who attended Creative Methods training reflect on their experience. This course exposed the team to new research approaches like photovoice, creative writing, and narrative inquiry, enhancing their ability to capture the emotional depth and lived realities of NEET youth. Participants reflected on how these methods, such as diaries and objects, can provide alternative ways to explore sensitive topics like resilience and depression. They also highlighted the importance of arts-based methods for decolonizing research, as they allow for more inclusive, participatory, and ethical engagement with communities. The team plans to integrate these creative methods into their work, offering NEET youth new avenues for self-expression and a deeper understanding of their resilience.
