It's Spooked! Issue 1: The Horror of Childhood

<p dir="ltr">In this 'zine Dr Jessica Urwin and Laurie Parsons examine <i>The Babadook</i> (2014) to discuss the inherent uncanniness of childhood, why we fear children, and why horror is the perfect genre to explore our own pasts. This was created as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2025, in conjunction with a screening of <i>The Babadook</i> at Phoenix Leicester.</p>
