The Avoidable Deaths Network (ADN) is launching a global campaign, declaring 12 March as the International Awareness Day for Avoidable Deaths (IAD4AD). The campaign slogan for the IAD4AD is “Disaster Deaths Are Avoidable”, with the ultimate goal of saving lives.Launched on 12 March 2019 at the 4th Summit of the Global Alliance of Disaster Risk Institutes (see Figure 1 and Figure 2), the ADN is a dynamic global forum for experts, practitioners, researchers and organisational partners dedicated to identifying and promoting theoretical and practical solutions to reducing avoidable deaths. The ADN is based at the University of Leicester in the UK and Kansai University in Japan.
