Agroforestry as a tool for Net Zero in the UK

Agroforestry is the integration of woody vegetation on actively utilised agricultural land. There has been a recent surge of interest in agroforestry as a potential nature-based solution to many of the impacts of climate change. This report considers agroforestry in the context of the United Kingdom, specifically its potential role in a plausible net zero 2050 future. The report provides an introduction to agroforestry in the UK and contextualises its implications with explicit reference to the AFN Network+ potential plausible futures of the UK AgriFood sector.
