This report is the outcome of research carried out on behalf of the East Midlands Learning
and Skills Council (LSC) that investigated the relationship between involvement in learning
and participation in the labour market by older workers. The focus was on employers’ use of
learning and training opportunities and their perceptions of older workers, their engagement
in learning and the benefits of such learning and training for the organisation.
