During 2022-23 and led by Dr. Katy Bunning, RCMG was commissioned by the Museums Association (UK) to undertake a piece of research to explore its Decolonisation Confidence and Skills Programme. This Programme was funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation, John Ellerman Foundation, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and the Art Fund.

The research aimed to understand how the first iteration of the Programme was experienced by participants, and to develop insights for the wider sector to better support decolonial work and practices in museums, galleries and heritage organisations.
