Great Fire of London Learning Resources for Primary Schools

<p>This collection features learning resources for primary schools created by the Reimagining the Restoration project. The resources are targeted at young people working at Key Stage 1 on the National Curriculum for England and learning about the Great Fire of London. The resources have been designed to present a more inclusive view of life of seventeenth-century London. </p> <p><br></p> <p>These resources were created in a collaboration between the University of Leceister and the Museum of London, and launched on the Museum of London's website in 2023.</p> <p><br></p> <p>The resources are </p> <p>(1) 3 videos: 'What was life like in 17th-century London?, 'Who was Samuel Pepys?' and 'How did they rebuild London?'. These are available in subtitled and British Sign Language interpreted versions.</p> <p>(2) Teachers guides and notes: 'KS1 Teachers Notes'; 'Teachers' Guide to 1660s London'; 'Teachers' guide to Pepys' Diary'</p> <p>(3) A series of classroom activities, to assist with teaching types of evidence, chronology, and other topics relevant to KS1 teaching. These resources come in versions differenciated for children working 'towards', 'at' and 'beyond' the expected level for Key Stage 1.</p> <p><br></p> <p><br></p> <p>Resources were written by the project's Principal Investigator Kate Loveman and James Harrod, the project's Learning Manager at the Museum.</p> <p><br></p> <p>These resources are linked in terms of characters and themes to another set of resources on the Deaf Londoners in the 1660s. </p>
