Imprisonment can be a traumatic experience for families, and its impact is often significant and enduring. Families can feel punished and stigmatised and find it difficult speaking to relatives and friends. Most organisations working with offenders are focused on the individual and have little time or resources to provide advice or support to family members. This pack, created by members of the project MNS Disorders in Guyana’s Jails, 1825 to the Present Day, has been designed to assist SSYDR in the establishment of a support group for local families.

SSYDR Inc. Specialists in Sustained Youth Development and Research is a not for profit incorporated focused on working regionally across Guyana to provide valued services to at risk youth.
